Every Mayfaire, we offer a selection of “Pick-a-Party” events for which you can purchase a seat at one or more parties for yourself or your child. At this year’s Mayfaire, we have a tempting line up of parties – some for adults, some for kids. Each party has a limited number of spaces available, so when you get to Mayfaire, head to the cafeteria and sign up early!

1. BBQ with the Principal – Join Principal Michelle Cuddeback at the home of Becky and Mike DeSalvo for a yummy, informal barbeque and some backyard games.

2. Lumpia Making Party – Join 5th grade teacher Trish Dorr at Brothers’ Restaurant for an evening learning how to make the classic and delicious Filipino dish, lumpia.

3. Star Wars Pizza Party with Ms. Toni – Costumes are encouraged at this movie night, where kids will make lightsabers, dine on pizza, and watch the newest Star Wars movie The Force Awakens (PG-13) with special guest, 2nd grade teacher Toni DiMaggio. Hosted by Helman parents Christa and Kelt Reeves.

4. Hawaiian Luau with Ms. Kari – Some of our younger dragons will be able to join 1st grade teacher Kari Smith for an afternoon of hula lessons, aloha music, tropical snacks, and Hawaiian crafts. Hosted by parents & teachers Ms. Tia and Ms. Briel!

5. Flower Fun with Ms. Valerie – Make fresh flower wreaths and learn the art of pressing flowers with expert floral artisan – and 1st grade teacher – Ms. Valerie! Hosted by Helman parents Courtney and Matt Burkholder.

7. Pandas and Pizza with Ms. Kelly – Lucky parents can enjoy a date night while their lucky kids join 3rd grade teacher Kelly Martin for a night of top-your-own pizzas and a viewing of the 2008 heart warmer, Kung Fu Panda (PG). Hosted by Helman parents Avril and Emil Betoushana.

9. Adventure Party and Treasure Hunt – Join kindergarten team Ms. Driscoll and Ms. Becky for snacks, explorer crafts, treasure hunting, and crystal mining at the home of Helman parents Christa and Kelt Reeves.

10. Escape from Alcatraz – All 24 students in Ms. Mary’s current 2nd grade class are invited to enjoy an extra chance at the epic Escape from Alcatraz PE obstacle course with warden Mary Snowden presiding. Snacks and cool drinks provided.
