Once a Dragon, Always a Dragon….

TarQuin Daley is a 17 year old Ashland High School student who attended Helman Elementary from Kindergarten through fifth grade.

On April 25, 2016, TarQuin was driving home after baseball practice when an intoxicated and uninsured driver hit his car.  TarQuin was pinned in the vehicle, unable to move, with a compound fracture and his kneecap broken in half.  A Good Samaritan who was passing by called emergency services and stayed with TarQuin until help arrived.  TarQuin has undergone surgery to repair his knee and faces a long road to a full recovery.

The family is raising $10,000 via GoFundMe to help with the unexpected medical bills.

The Helman Hug Fund was established in 2015 to help Helman families in true crisis. The idea was that we, as a group, would be able to spring to action when a member of our community is in desperate need. The PTA was pleased to be able to draw on the Helman Hug Fund to contribute $300 to TarQuin Daley’s GoFundMe fundraiser, and we encourage all who are able to visit https://www.gofundme.com/tarquindaley and make an additional contribution.

The Helman PTA sends best wishes for a smooth recovery to TarQuin!
